Healthy phone line launched
Sefton residents now need just make one telephone call 0300 100 1000 to access information about a range of lifestyle services including smoking and physical activity.
The line, called ‘Healthy Sefton’, connects callers directly to advice on services including stop smoking and support for those who feel stressed, anxious or low. There is also information about local community weight management programmes.
Dr Janet Atherton, NHS Sefton’s Director of Public Health, said: “The new number is now ready for everyone to call and we are delighted with it.
“Healthy Sefton is not a call centre. It’s about making it simpler for everyone to get the most appropriate information through one number.
"We’re hoping this will make it a lot easier for people to contact us and we’ll be able to deal with more calls and queries.”
Healthy Sefton supports NHS Sefton’s Better Health Better Life strategic plan, which aims to make a difference and help people lead healthier lives, through making significant improvements to local health services and how they are used.
Calls to 0300 numbers are covered by inclusive minute packages for landlines and mobiles.
